Didik Prasetyo or better known by his stage name Didi Kempot is a campursari and congdut singer and songwriter from Surakarta. He is the son of the famous traditional artist, Ranto Edi Gudel, and the younger sibling of Srimulat's senior comedian, Mamiek Prakoso.
Most of the songs he wrote have the theme of heartbreak and loss. The reason for deliberately choosing this theme is because the average person has experienced it and wants to be close to the community, also the reason why Didi Kempot uses place names as the title or lyrics of his songs.
Now, Didi Kempot is in great demand by young people from various regions who call themselves "Sad Boys" and "Sad Girls" who are members of the Friends of Ambyar community and claim Didi Kempot as the "Godfather of Broken Heart" with the nickname "Lord Didi". The nickname originates from several Didi Kempot songs which tell stories of sadness and heartbreak.
